Close blinds fully side to side to avoid having slats bunched on one end. Liquid dish soap works great for plastic vinyl and fabric blinds. Abrasive cleaners may scratch the surface of your blinds so use caution. Put a few drops of dishwashing soap in a bucket of water.

But the bound slats attract dust quickly and can be. Vacuuming the blinds first helps remove cobwebs and debris that are clinging to the slats. Be very gentle when cleaning this type of blind to avoid bending or cracking the slats.

To clean metal and vinyl blinds follow this method. Wet a car washing brush and brush the blinds from side to side and then turn them over and brush the other side. Washing blinds without removing them. For spot cleaning you can use soft cloths and with all purpose cleaner sprayed onto it.

You can clean fabric vertical blinds without removing the vanes. They provide privacy and keep the sun from bleaching window treatments and furnishings. Mix 4 cups 950 ml of warm water and 1 tablespoon 15 ml of liquid dish soap in a large mixing bowl. Close the blinds in one.

It is advisable never to directly spray on the blinds.
